This Privacy Policy explains how Redline Japan (VAT ID 02814660748) collects, uses and protects the personal data of users who visit and purchase from our online store, operated through Shopify.

1. Data controller

The data controller is Redline Japan, reachable at info@redlinejapan.com.

2. Data we collect

Depending on how you interact with the store, we may process:

  • Contact data: name, email, phone, shipping and billing address.
  • Account data: credentials and preferences linked to a customer account (if created).
  • Order and payment data: products purchased, amounts, payment method and transaction status. Card data is handled by payment providers (e.g. Shopify Payments, PayPal) and is not stored by us in clear text.
  • Browsing and device data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, cookies and similar technologies.
  • Communications: messages sent to support or via site forms.
  • Newsletter (email): email address and marketing consent when you join the mailing list from the homepage or other dedicated forms.
  • WhatsApp alerts (restock / availability): WhatsApp phone number, specific consent, and a reference to the product or event you want to be notified about (e.g. an out-of-stock product).

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Performance of the sales contract (orders, shipping, returns, support).
  • Legal obligations (tax, accounting, product safety).
  • Legitimate interest (improving the store, fraud prevention, security).
  • Consent, where required, in particular for:
    • Newsletter / commercial emails: we send store news, general restocks, releases and promotional content only if you gave specific consent (unchecked checkbox). You can withdraw consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in emails or by writing to info@redlinejapan.com. Where enabled, email confirmation of signup (double opt-in) helps better document consent.
    • WhatsApp availability / restock alerts: we use the number only to send messages about the product or event you signed up for (not a generic promotional list). Legal basis: specific consent. You can withdraw consent by writing to info@redlinejapan.com or by replying to the message as we indicate.
    • Non-essential cookies, where applicable.

Newsletter consent and WhatsApp consent are separate: signing up for WhatsApp product alerts does not enroll you in the newsletter, and vice versa, unless you give both consents.

4. Recipients and transfers

Data may be processed by Shopify and its sub-processors, carriers, payment providers and, if used, analytics/marketing tools, only for the purposes above. For WhatsApp, messages transit on Meta Platforms (WhatsApp) infrastructure; sending may be done manually via WhatsApp Business or, in the future, through authorized providers. Some providers may be located outside the EEA; in that case the safeguards required by law apply (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).

5. Retention

We keep data for as long as needed to provide the services, meet legal obligations and handle disputes. Newsletter data is kept while consent remains valid or until you unsubscribe. WhatsApp numbers for restock alerts are kept as long as needed to fulfill the request (e.g. until the availability notice or withdrawal of consent), then deleted or anonymized.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and withdraw consent given. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (in Italy: Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
